报告人简介

Sally A. Miller received Ph.D. degrees in plant pathology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1982. She joined the faculty of the Department of Plant Pathology at OSU, Wooster, as an assistant professor in 1991; she was promoted to associate professor in 1997 and professor in 2003.

Dr. Miller is a very productive scientist, with more than 50 peer-reviewed journal articles in the last decade alone, plus large numbers of extension publications. She won the awards of American Phytopathological Society  (APS) Fellow in 2010 and served as APS president in 2015 and 2016.

Dr.Miller’s program includes basic and applied research on the etiology and management of diseases of vegetable crops, the characterization of plant pathogens, and food safety. Efforts are focused on:

  • Sustainable/integrated disease management in organic and conventional systems

  • Etiology of emerging diseases

  • Molecular characterization of pathogens relevant to vegetable agroecosystems

  • Detection technologies for pathogens and beneficial microorganisms

  • Role of plant disease management in food safety and interactions of plant and zoonotic pathogens
