报告题目一：Bringing bees into the global biodiversity conversation

报告人简介：

Michael Orr is an interdisciplinary taxonomist broadly interested in the biodiversity of bees. As a PIFI Postdoctoral Fellow at the Institute of Zoology (CAS), Michael is working to better our knowledge of bees both in China and globally. Current projects include the systematics and phylogenomics of solitary bees, bee distribution and conservation, the evolution of mimicry, and several new directions in genomics related to these and other topics. He has published over 40 articles on a wide range of topics, with leading roles on papers in journals including Current Biology, Nature Ecology & Evolution, Ecography, Bioscience, and Global Ecology and Biogeography.

报告人简介：

Alice obtained her BSc and PhD from the University of Bristol. She has worked across the tropics, spending the last 14 years largely working across Asia. Alice’s work focuses on patterns of biodiversity and drivers of biodiversity change at various spatiotemporal scales in order to develop pro-active management strategies that aim to mitigate the impacts of human activities on biodiversity. Recent work has explored target setting for the CBD-COP 15’s post-2020 biodiversity framework as well as analyzing the scale and dimensions of legal wildlife trade, and developing new tools and approaches to monitor biodiversity to inform conservation and management.

Alice Hughes，博士，2007年毕业于英国布里斯托大学，取得动物学理学学士，并继续在校深造，取得博士学位；曾担任布里斯托大学研究员、班戈大学名誉研究员、格罗宁根大学名誉研究员、国际应用系统分析研究所客座研究员；现任中国生物多样性保护与绿色发展基金会副秘书长、中国科学院西双版纳热带植物园副教授、中国科学院西双版纳热带植物园景观生态学研究组组长；参与中国环境与发展国际合作委员会有关2020后全球生物多样性框架工作；她担任《动物生态学》期刊（Journal of Animal Ecology）助理编辑，《生态系统健康与可持续》（Ecosystem Health and Sustainability）、《森林科学前沿》（Frontiers in Forest Science）、Ecotropica和Heliyon等期刊编辑，已发表论文46篇。重点关注时间与空间层面上生物多样性模式及生物多样性变化驱动因素，制定积极有效的管理策略，以消减人类活动对生物多样性的影响；研究领域包括生物地理研究、保护优先级别及管理，以及生物多样性保护监测评估工具研发。
