报告人简介：

现任瑞士巴塞尔自然历史博物馆昆虫学部 (Department of Biosciences, Natural History Museum, Basel, Switzerland) 荣誉馆长。1983年获得苏黎世联邦理工学院（ETH Zürich）理学博士学位，1985年于英国利物浦理工大学 (Liverpool Polytechnic University) 博士后出站。1985-1997年任瑞士巴塞尔自然历史博物馆研究员。同时，2001年任巴塞尔大学动物学院讲师。1997-2015年任瑞士巴塞尔自然历史博物馆昆虫学部馆长及讲师。 

Daniel博士长期从事昆虫分类及系统演化等方面的研究，研究对象包括现生及化石类群，研究成果丰硕。发现的现生及化石新属种多达1科5亚科39属590余种，在Systematic Entomology, Zoological Journal of the Linnean Society, Zootaxa, Journal of Natural History等杂志上发表论文350余篇，出版昆虫分类相关书籍5部。现为瑞士和阿根廷昆虫学会荣誉会员，担任Fauna Helvetica, Entomo Helvetica等5本杂志的编辑。
