嘉宾简介：

Jonathan D.G. Jones教授是植物抗病基因克隆和植物免疫学研究的国际领军人物。他在剑桥大学获得学士和博士学位，随后在哈佛大学从事博士后研究。自1988年以来，他一直在英国诺里奇的 Sainsbury研究所工作，曾于1994-1997年和2003-2009年担任研究所所长。他于1998年当选为欧洲分子生物学组织（EMBO）会员，2003年当选英国皇家学会会员，并于2015年当选美国国家科学院外籍院士。他曾获2023年国际分子植物与微生物互作学会（IS-MPMI）杰出成就奖，并与 Jeffrey L. Dangl 教授和 Brian J. Staskawicz 教授一同获得了2025年沃尔夫农业奖，以表彰他们在植物免疫系统和抗病性研究方面的开创性发现。

Professor Jonathan Jones (JJ) investigates plant immunity to disease. His team isolated and characterized many resistance (R) genes that encode plant immune receptors and revealed key insights into immune receptor mechanisms. He pioneered genomics methods to accelerate R gene cloning and the analysis of plant immune receptor diversity and evolution and is a strong advocate for using immune receptor genes from wild relatives to replace crop protection agrochemicals with genetics.

JJ got his BSc and PhD from University of Cambridge and did Postdoc with Prof Fred Ausubel at University of Harvard. Since 1988, JJ has worked at The Sainsbury Laboratory, Norwich UK, serving as Head of Laboratory 1994-7 and 2003-2009. He was elected member of EMBO in 1998, Fellow of Royal Society in 2003 and International Member of the US National Academy of Sciences in 2015. He received the 2023 outstanding achievement award from the ISMPMI. He has been selected as a 2025 Wolf Prize Laureate in Agriculture along with Professors Jeffery L. Dangl and Brian J. Staskawicz "for groundbreaking discoveries of the immune system and disease resistance in plants."
